<p>Last weekend I found and bought a bunch of Genjer (<em>Limnocharis  Flava</em>), a tropical vegetable, in Carrefour Supermarket. Genjer is  an Indonesian local name for a tropical vegetable which grow a lot on a  silty soil. You probably feel a bit difficult to find it on local  markets nowadays. It always remind me of one of my mother&#8217;s traditional  cooking. I tried to spice it up as what is always in my imagination. And  it finally tasted as what I want, savory, crunchy &amp; sweet that you  never got from<span id="more-361"></span> the other vegetables.</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients</strong><br />
a  bunch of Genjer, cut the young stalk into 5cm length and discard the  lower hard stalk<br />
10 medium prawns, skin-off<br />
1 shallots, sliced<br />
3  garlic cloves, sliced<br />
1 red chilli, sliced<br />
1 salam/bay leaf<br />
2  cm length of fresh lengkuas/galangal<br />
1/2 tbsp yellow bean sauce<br />
1/2  tbsp salt<br />
1/2 tbsp sweet soy sauce<br />
a pinch of sugar<br />
3 tbsp  vegetable oil</p>
<p><strong>Method</strong><br />
1.  Heat the vegetable oil in a large heavy pan and fry the shallots,  garlic, chilli, salam leaf, lengkuas and stir-fry for 2 minutes or soft.<br />
2. Add the prawns and stir well until the prawns are colored.<br />
3.  Season with the salt, sweet soy sauce, sugar &amp; yellow bean sauce.<br />
4.  Stir in the Genjer into the pan and continue to stir fry for about 2  minute or until a bit watery. Do not cook to long, otherwise the Genjer  will be overcooked.Best served with warm white-rice.</p>

<p>Pulang ke Jogja awal April kemarin, meski cuma sebentar, menyempatkan  mampir makan soto ayam di depan Stasiun Tugu. Baru tau kalo namanya <span id="more-331"></span>Soto Ayam Pak Gareng. Padahal dari jaman SMA (1999) menemukan tempat itu  &amp; akhirnya sering makan di situ kalo wiken. Tau tempat makan ini  dulu dari Mbak Arum (my older sister). Menurutku yang bikin beda karena  dilengkapi Lenthuk atau perkedel terbuat dari singkong, my favorite!</p>
<p>Sekarang tempatnya agak bergeser dari tempat awal mereka jualan. Jaman  dulu persis di depan Stasiun Tugu dan kebanyakan tempat duduknya  lesehan. Bener-bener lesehan pakei tiker tanpa meja. Bedanya lagi sama  jaman dulu, jam bukanya. Kalau jaman dulu, jam 9 pagi juga sudah  kehabisan, tapi sekarang sepertinya buka sampai siang (kurang tau juga  sampai jam berapa). Kalau dulu sate jeroan ayamnya pasti sudah habis  juga kalau datengnya kesiangan, tapi kemarin pas makan di sini seneng  deh karena stock masih banyak dan selalu ditambah terus setiap kali ada  yang habis di meja. Dan sekarang bisa minta lenthuk sepuasnya karena  stock-nya juga banyak. <p>2 eggs<br />
1 tsp baking powder<br />
3 tbsp castor sugar<br />
150 gr flour<br />
100-150 cc milk<br />
3 tbsp butter(melted)<br />
50 gr cheddar cheese (optional)<br />
any jams or fresh fruits (optional)</p>
<p>Beat the eggs until solved. Mix flour, <span id="more-251"></span>baking powder, and sugar in a bowl. Make hole in this mixture and put in the  eggs batter. Mix it slowly until getting smooth &amp; thick batter. Put in the melted butter and any optional ingredients (cheese or raisins).</p>
<p>Heat a flat pan with a bit butter or oil on it. Pour in three tablespoon of the batter or more if you want bigger size of pancake. Cook it until golden brown on both sides. Serve warm with your favourit (butter, jams, fresh fruits, cream or ice cream)</p>

<p>Ternyata bumbunya ga susah en bisa kok mirip rasa dan aromanya&#8230;cuma perlu latihan nih kya nya. Resep untuk dagingnya sperti di bawah ini:<span id="more-237"></span></p>
<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<p>Chicken/Lamb/Beef : the winner is Lamb!</p>
<p>* 1 tablespoon ground cumin (jinten)<br />
* 1 tablespoon ground coriander (ketumbar)<br />
* 1 tablespoon garlic powder (bw.putih)<br />
* 1/2 tablespoon paprika (paprika)<br />
* 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (kunyit)<br />
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (cengkih)<br />
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (berhubung susah diganti pake cabe giling)<br />
* 1 teaspoon ground ginger (jahe)<br />
* 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (lada hitam)<br />
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (kayu manis)</p>
<p><strong>Directions</strong></p>
<p>* If you have whole spices and the time, dry roast the cumin and coriander seeds in a frying pan for several minutes, let them cool and grind as fine as possible<br />
* Mix all the spices and the ground/sliced beef, lamb or chicken, add 1 tablespoon oil and lemon juice, add salt to taste, mix and leave for a few hours or overnight.</p>
<p>* If you like add some chopped onion, crushed garlic, chopped chili pepper and a chopped sweet pepper to the meat mix.</p>
<p>* Fry or grill this until done.</p>
<p>* Serve in a wrap or pita bread with a mayonnaise sauce/Tzatziki/Chilli sauce, iceberg sla and cucumber if you like.</p>
<p>(optional)</p>
<p>Mayonnaise sauce:<br />
Mixed mayonnaise, plain yoghurt, parsley, finely chopped garlic.</p>
<p>Chili sauce:<br />
Mixed chopped tomatoes, red pepper powder, tomato sauce, a bit of lemon/lime squash, if you like add chopped basil leaves.</p>

<p><strong>Caranya:</strong></p>
<p>1. Ayam dikucuri air jeruk dan garam, remas2, diamkan 15-20 menit.<br />
2. Goreng hingga kecoklatan.<br />
3. Tumis bawang putih dan bawang bombay dengan margarin.<br />
4. Setelah wangi, masukkan saus tomat, air kaldu, garam, gula dan merica. Aduk sampai mendidih.<br />
5. Masukkan ayam. Aduk rata. Biarkan sampai mendidih kembali.<br />
6. Masukkan maizena yang sudah diaduk dengan sedikit air.<br />
7. Aduk2 sampai kuah mengental.<br />
8. Hidangkan hangat dengan nasi panas2.</p>

4 siung bawang putih, iris2 tipis<br />

1 sdm kecap manis<br />
1 sdm gula pasir</p>
<p>garam secukupnya</p>
<p>100 ml air</p>
<p>Cara memasak<span id="more-95"></span>:</p>
<p>1. Tumis bawang merah, bawang putih, cabe besar, cabe rawit sampai wangi.<br />
2. Masukkan asam jawa dan sedikit air.<br />
3. Bila asam sudah mulai lunak dan menyatu dengan bumbu tumisan, masukkan udang, tambahkan garam, gula, daun jeruk dan kecap.<br />
4. Setelah udang berubah warna dan air habis, masukkan daun bawang dan tomat. Masak sampai daun bawang dan tomat matang.  Gampang kan? Slamat mencoba!</p>

<p>Bahan:<br />
1 kg daging kambing (lebih enak yg pake tulangan)<br />
250 santan kental<br />
1.5 liter air<br />
2 buah tomat<br />
1/2 buah kol putih<br />
5 sendok parutan kelapa di sangrai sampai cokelat &amp; ditumbuk halus</p>
<p>Bumbu halus:<br />
4 buah cabe besar<br />
5 buah cabe rawit<br />
6 siung bawang merah<br />
4 siung bawang putih<br />
1/2 sdt jinten<br />
3 biji kapulaga atau 1 sdt kapulaga bubuk<br />
1 sdt ketumbar<br />
1 sdt merica<br />
4 buah kemiri</p>
<p>Bumbu lainnya:<br />
2 sdm kecap manis<br />
5 biji cengkeh<br />
1 batang kayu manis<br />
1 batang sereh<br />
3 lembar daun salam<br />
5 lembar daun jeruk purut<br />
garam sesuai selera</p>
<p>Cara masaknya:<br />
1. Tumis bumbu halus sampai wangi, masukkan cengkeh, kayu manis, sereh, daun salam, daun jeruk. Tambahkan santan.<br />
2. Masukan daging kambing. Lalu tambahkan air dan kelapa tumbuk. Setelah mendidih kecilkan api lalu biarkan sampai 1 jam agar daging empuk dan bumbu merasuk.<br />
3. Bila daging sudah empuk, tambahkan kecap dan garam sesuai selera. Masukkan kol dan tomat. Tongseng siap disajikan dengan nasi panas, krupuk udang dan tambahkan bawang goreng.</p>

Simpel resepnya ternyata gak pake bumbu aneh2..cuma awalnya bingung<span id="more-73"></span> cari tepung nya&#8230;trus nyari2 di toko oriental gitu dapet deh(di nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam..kalo anak2 indo yg di amsterdam biasanya tau lah) &#8230;tulisan di bungkusnya HAKAU FEN&#8230;awalnya cuma nebak2 aja&#8230;ehh bener&#8230;soalnya itu tepung di bagian tepung2 untuk bapao/dim sum<br />
Tapiiii&#8230;susah pas proses bungkus hakau nya&#8230;kalo yg di blog di atas itu kan bisa bagus gitu bentuknya&#8230;punya sayah seperti di image di atas ituh&#8230;hihihi&#8230;tapi gpp lah&#8230;namanya juga pemula&#8230;dah gitu giling kulitnya susah banget&#8230;soalnya ga punya gilingan pasta&#8230;jadi manual deh&#8230;hiks. Dengan semangat 45 (hwehehe..) jadi deh&#8230;ada yang mau ngajarin bungkusnya? <img src='http://schokolades.info/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif' alt=':P' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
